OUR MISSION
The mission of Make-A-Wish Foundation® is to create hope and
happiness for children with life threatening illnesses around the world.
Make-A-Wish® Philippines grants wishes of children in their
territory, whatever economic status, gender and religion.
WHO ARE QUALIFIED?
Children who have been diagnosed by their physician as
having an illness that is life-threatening, not necessarily terminal, and who
are between three and eighteen years of age at the time of referral, are
eligible for a wish.
They must be referred to the Foundation and determined to be
medically eligible for a wish grant by their physician based on the
Foundation’s list of medical illnesses that are life-threatening. The child
must clearly express what they wish for. Then the child’s treating physician along
with the Foundation make the final determination whether a child’s medical
condition qualifies him or her to be a wishchild. More detailed guidelines on
eligibility are provided to medical professionals upon request.
Make-A-Wish® does not give out cash donations to its
beneficiaries. The Foundation does not give any medical assistance in any form
as well.
